iPhone Air is the thinnest iPhone Apple has ever made: just 5.6 mm thick and 165 grams, built around a Grade 5 titanium unibody (80 percent recycled titanium). Its 6.5-inch Super Retina XDR display runs adaptive ProMotion up to 120Hz with a 3000-nit outdoor brightness peak — Apple calls it its best iPhone display yet. The front is Ceramic Shield 2 and the back is Ceramic Shield, which Apple says is "4x more resistant to cracks." This configuration ships with 256GB of storage.
At its heart is the A19 Pro chip: a 6-core CPU (2 performance and 4 efficiency cores) paired with a 5-core GPU with Neural Accelerators — note the GPU is 5-core here, not the 6-core found on Pro and Pro Max, to fit the thinner body. Alongside it sits Apple's own C1X modem, which Apple calls "the most power-efficient modem ever in an iPhone"; it supports 5G on sub-6GHz only, with no mmWave. The N1 wireless chip adds Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and Thread.
Unlike the Pro models, iPhone Air has just one rear camera: a 48MP Fusion sensor with a 26 mm ƒ/1.6 lens and sensor-shift optical image stabilization. The same sensor also produces an optical-quality 2x telephoto crop (equivalent to 12MP, 52 mm, ƒ/1.6); digital zoom goes up to 10x. The front camera is the same 18MP Center Stage as the Pro. 4K Dolby Vision video on this model tops out at 60 fps (not 120 fps like Pro).
Apple rates the battery at up to 27 hours of video playback, charging to 50% in 30 minutes with a 20W-or-higher adapter — both lower than Pro, which is expected in a body this thin. Apple built a dedicated magnetic accessory, the MagSafe Battery, that extends playback to up to 40 hours for this model specifically. MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging top out at 20W (Pro reaches 25W). The USB-C port on this model is USB 2 speed only (up to 480Mb/s), not the faster USB 3 found on Pro. The body is rated IP68 and — uniquely for this model — it is eSIM-only worldwide, including China, with no physical-SIM variant anywhere. Key points
- The thinnest iPhone ever: 5.6mm, titanium body, 165 grams
- 6.5-inch 120Hz display, 3000 nits outdoor peak
- A19 Pro chip (5-core GPU) plus the dedicated C1X modem and N1 wireless chip

- Up to 27 hours of video playback (up to 40 hours with the MagSafe Battery accessory)
- eSIM only worldwide — no physical SIM even in China

Benefits
- Grade 5 titanium unibody with 80% recycled titanium — light and strong
- 6.5-inch Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion up to 120Hz and Always-On
- Readable in sunlight thanks to a 3000-nit outdoor brightness peak
- Ceramic Shield 2 front and Ceramic Shield back, 4x better crack resistance
- A19 Pro chip with a Neural Engine and GPU Neural Accelerators
- Dedicated C1X modem, Apple's own most power-efficient modem yet
- N1 wireless chip with Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and Thread
- 48MP Fusion camera with an optical-quality 2x digital telephoto crop and up to 10x zoom
- 18MP Center Stage front camera that reframes automatically
- Dedicated MagSafe Battery accessory extends video playback to up to 40 hours
- MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging up to 20W
- Dual eSIM, storing eight or more eSIMs
Cautions
- This phone is eSIM-only worldwide with no physical SIM tray anywhere — even the China model (unlike iPhone 17/17 Pro/Pro Max). Confirm your carrier supports eSIM before buying
- No power adapter or EarPods in the box; only a 1 m USB-C cable is included
- The USB-C port on this model is USB 2 speed only (up to 480Mb/s) — large video file transfers will be slower than on Pro models
- This model has only one rear camera (not three); the 2x telephoto is a digital crop of the main sensor, not a separate lens
- Battery (up to 27 hours video) and wireless charging (up to 20W) are lower than Pro; the dedicated MagSafe Battery accessory is sold separately for more runtime
- IP68 resistance is not permanent and decreases with wear; Apple does not cover liquid damage under warranty
- Regional Apple models differ — ask the seller which model you are getting
- The 256GB storage is not expandable and there is no memory-card slot
