Description
The Yokogawa EJA118E is a diaphragm-sealed differential pressure transmitter from the DPharp EJA-E series. Remote diaphragm seals prevent the process medium from entering the pressure-sensing assembly; the seals are connected to the transmitter with fill-fluid-filled capillaries, making the instrument suitable for hot, viscous, corrosive, crystallizing or slurry services where an impulse-line installation is impractical. At its heart is the DPharp digital sensor, a silicon resonant element that measures differential pressure, static pressure and sensor temperature from a single chip. These three signals let the transmitter apply real-time dynamic compensation for temperature and static-pressure effects, giving a reference accuracy of ±0.2% of span. The transmitter outputs a 4-20 mA DC signal proportional to differential pressure, and the static pressure can be shown on the integral LCD indicator or read remotely over BRAIN or HART. Response time is about 200 ms. EJA118E can be ordered with M (2.5-100 kPa) or H (25-500 kPa) capsules and with flush, extended or combination diaphragm-seal flanges in 1½-, 2-, 3- and 4-inch sizes to JIS, ANSI, JPI or DIN ratings. Wetted diaphragm materials include 316L SST, Hastelloy C-276, tantalum and titanium; capillary lengths run from 1 to 10 m; fill fluids cover silicone, fluorinated and ethylene-glycol options for process temperatures from -50 to 310 degC. The housing is rated IP66/IP67 (Type 4X). The EJA-E series in its standard configuration is certified to IEC 61508:2010 for SIL 2 (single) and SIL 3 (dual) use, and the unit is available with FM, CSA, ATEX and IECEx flameproof (Ex db IIC) and intrinsically-safe (Ex ia IIC) approvals plus ANSI/ISA-12.27.01 dual-seal certification. Note: this model has been discontinued by Yokogawa (successors: EJXC80A / EJAC80E), so it is offered as a stock/serviceable item. The nameplate on this specific unit reads model EJA118E, Style S2, HART output, and a 10.5-30 V DC intrinsically-safe supply.
