Lake Dukan
Sulaymaniyah (Ranya)
The largest lake in Iraqi Kurdistan, formed by the Dukan Dam on the Lesser Zab — a destination for boating and lakeside resorts.

About
Lake Dukan spans roughly 270 square kilometres behind a dam built on the Lesser Zab between 1954 and 1959, and is considered the largest lake in Iraqi Kurdistan. It lies some 60–70 kilometres northwest of Sulaymaniyah, near the town of Ranya. Boating, fishing and lakeside restaurants and resorts make it the governorate's main waterside getaway.
