Bekhal waterfall is fed by mountain springs and tumbles over limestone rocks 10 kilometres west of Rawanduz, about 135 kilometres from Erbil. It is a designated summer resort, with restaurants and tea houses perched beside — and over — the rushing water. Its closeness to Gali Ali Beg waterfall and the Korek teleferic base station means the three are usually visited together.
