Description

The ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 14 (Aura Edition) is Lenovo's newest ultralight flagship for business users: built on a redesigned "Space Frame" chassis, it starts at roughly 996 grams and measures 9.2 to 16.4 mm thick. The top cover is a bio-based carbon-fibre weave and the base is magnesium, tested to the MIL-STD-810H military-grade durability standard. Lenovo reports an iFixit repairability score of 9 out of 10 for this model, unusually high for this class of laptop.

The processor comes from Intel's third-generation Core Ultra family ("Panther Lake") and, depending on configuration, is a Core Ultra 5 335, Core Ultra 7 355 or Core Ultra 7 365 (the two higher tiers offered with optional vPro). Memory is soldered LPDDR5X (16GB, 32GB or 64GB) and storage is a PCIe Gen4 SSD in 256GB, 512GB or 1TB. The 14-inch display comes in two real options: a 500-nit WUXGA (1920x1200) IPS panel, or a 2.8K (2880x1800) OLED panel with variable refresh up to 120Hz and HDR500 True Black.

The 58Whr battery is customer-replaceable and rapid-charges to 80% in 60 minutes with a 65W-or-higher adapter. The backlit keyboard keeps the signature red TrackPoint nub, alongside a glass haptic touchpad. Connectivity includes up to three Thunderbolt 4/USB4 ports, one USB-A port, one HDMI 2.1 port and a 3.5mm audio jack; Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 are standard, with an optional 5G modem and nano-SIM slot.

Security includes a discrete TPM 2.0 chip and a fingerprint reader built into the power button; a webcam with an IR sensor for Windows Hello face login is standard (5MP, with an optional 10MP/110-degree-field-of-view upgrade). It ships with Windows 11 Pro. Buy the original ThinkPad X1 Carbon in Erbil and the Kurdistan Region from Kurdoff — contact the seller for the exact RAM/storage configuration and today's price.

Key points

  • Starts at 996g, carbon-fibre and magnesium body tested to MIL-STD-810H
  • Intel Core Ultra 3rd-gen (Panther Lake) chip, soldered LPDDR5X RAM up to 64GB
  • 14-inch IPS or 2.8K OLED display, up to 120Hz refresh
  • 58Whr customer-replaceable battery with rapid charge
  • iFixit repairability score: 9/10

Benefits

  • Space Frame chassis with components on both sides of the motherboard — better cooling, up to 30W TDP
  • Bio-based carbon-fibre top cover and magnesium base, tested to MIL-STD-810H
  • Technician-replaceable keyboard and USB-C ports — high repairability
  • Large glass haptic touchpad
  • Thunderbolt 4/USB4 ports with video-out and charging support
  • Layered security: discrete TPM 2.0, fingerprint reader in the power button, IR camera for Windows Hello
  • Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 for a more stable connection
  • Optional 5G modem for connectivity away from the office

Cautions

  • LPDDR5X RAM is soldered to the motherboard and cannot be upgraded after purchase — choose the capacity before buying
  • Only one USB-A port is present; a hub is needed for multiple legacy devices
  • The 2.8K OLED display is not touch; the touch option ships on the WUXGA IPS panel
  • The 5G modem and the upgraded (10MP) camera are optional and not present on every configuration
  • The 80%-in-60-minutes rapid charge needs a 65W-or-higher adapter
  • The exact configuration (RAM/storage/display) affects final weight and price — confirm with the seller before buying

Frequently asked questions

How long does this laptop's battery last?
Lenovo has not published an official runtime figure for this model; what is documented is the battery capacity (58Whr, customer-replaceable) and charge speed (up to 80% in 60 minutes with a 65W-or-higher adapter). Actual runtime depends on the configuration (IPS vs OLED panel) and workload.
What is this laptop's exact weight?
The lightest configuration (non-touch IPS display, no 5G modem) starts at approximately 996 grams. Adding the OLED display, touch, or a 5G modem increases the weight slightly — ask the seller for the exact weight of the configuration you choose.
How many Thunderbolt or USB-C ports does it have?
It has up to three Thunderbolt 4/USB4 ports (two on the left next to HDMI and the audio jack, one on the right next to the USB-A port). All three support charging and video output.
Which version of Windows does it ship with?
The standard business configuration ships with Windows 11 Pro; Windows 11 Home is also available as an option. This model is a "Copilot+ PC", meaning it meets the hardware bar for on-device Windows AI features.
Can the RAM and storage be upgraded later?
The LPDDR5X RAM is soldered to the motherboard and cannot be replaced or upgraded after purchase — choose the capacity (16GB, 32GB or 64GB) at order time. The SSD, however, is a separate M.2 module and is technician-replaceable thanks to Lenovo's repair-focused "Space Frame" design.
