Visit the storeRoberto Cavalli Paradiso launched in 2015 and, unlike the brand's gold signature version, it is a bright summer scent. The idea is the garden of an Italian villa: warm air, cypress trees and flowers that have only just opened. According to the brand's own site Paradiso belongs to the floral-woody family with a musk base.
The official pyramid opens on neroli and mandarin, has a single dominant heart note — wild jasmine — and settles on cypress and musk. Specialist references such as Fragrantica additionally list bergamot in the opening and pine and laurel in the base. Composed by Louise Turner, it pushes green, cool cypress forward instead of sweetness.
The bottle is nothing like the base version: faceted six-sided glass cut like a gemstone, a braided gold ring at the neck and a cut-crystal ball stopper. The box is a turquoise-to-yellow gradient with a gold snakeskin band printed "2.5 FL OZ ℮ 75 ml". If you see a gold box with a turquoise band and animal print, that is the base Roberto Cavalli, not Paradiso.
